Have you ever felt disappointed taking an inexpensive grocery store bouquet home and arranging it on your dining table, and having it look… well, like an inexpensive grocery store bouquet? Until now, there were limited options for someone who loves flowers but doesn’t have the skills or the option of a flower arranging class in their area. Enter The Flower Club by Bloom, an inclusive and joyful online community for those who love flowers. Amanda Kitaura, a professional flower farmer and florist with over eight years of experience and training from top national organizations like the Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers, leads the club. In it, Amanda hosts monthly virtual flower arranging classes live online, and members can follow along from anywhere in the world.
What is The Flower Club?
The Flower Club is a private online membership hosted by Bloom and filled with people who like to play in flowers. It is a fun, inclusive, and joyful space dedicated to those who want to make time to do something for themselves. Each month, Amanda hosts a live, virtual flower-arranging class in the group and members can follow along from anywhere in the world! Between classes, Amanda shares expert tips and answers any questions members may have about flowers, floral arranging or their previous creations.

Do I Need Experience to Join an Online Flower Arranging Club?
You don’t need any special skills or prior experience to join The Flower Club by Bloom. This online flower arranging club is aimed at anyone who is willing to try something new and play in flowers. One member arranges flowers with her two grade-school-aged kids. “The girls and I turned two Trader Joe’s bouquets (plus some extras) into three and they had the best time,” she shared after a recent live class.
Each month, Amanda will go live in the group and show you the exact step-by-step of how to create that month’s arrangement or bouquet. Along the way, she will share tips gained through years of experience creating flowers all around the Sacramento area, as well as through professional floral conferences and gatherings around the nation. These tips and Amanda’s supportive teaching approach make The Flower Club the perfect online flower arranging club for beginners and all skill levels.
In between live classes, you’ll find a variety of tips and tricks in The Flower Club, including basics like which flowers fall into specific categories often used to plan out arrangements, and more advanced tips for making your flowers look their best and last their longest.

Can I Really Learn Flower Arranging from Home Through a Virtual Flower Community?
It might seem counterintuitive to learn something hands-on like flower arranging through an online community, but The Flower Club is a perfect way to learn flower arranging and have some fun dedicating time to self-care! The live online courses happen each month on a set schedule (typically the fourth Saturday of the month), and if you miss a class you have 30 days to watch the replay. That kind of flexibility isn’t possible with an in-person course, and the fact that the classes are online means they are accessible to even more people and can fit into your busy schedule more easily.
You also don’t need access to a flower wholesaler or anything like that: If you live in the Sacramento area, you can purchase and pick up the exact flowers you’ll need for each course from Amanda. But if not, we publish a flower “recipe” a few days before each class, allowing you time to enjoy a quick search for the types of flowers that will be used in the live class. You can always get flowers at your local grocery store and still have fun following along!
But back to the basic goals: You can learn flower arranging through The Flower Club’s virtual courses. The video is always easy to follow, and a real-time Q&A is available through the chat. If you have questions after the fact, you can always post them in the group for Amanda or other members to answer. Plus, the interactive format encourages other members to share their work for extra inspiration.
Amanda is an experienced teacher and floral professional who will share her years of expertise with you through the live classes in The Flower Club. She has been a professional flower farmer and florist for more than eight years, and has participated in trainings and conferences around the nation hosted by organizations like the Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers and Erin Benzakein of Floret Flower Farm. Before that, she worked in education for the better part of a decade, so she knows how to craft a class that will teach you essential flower-arranging skills.
What If I Can’t Attend the Live Virtual Classes?
Flexibility is one of the biggest benefits of The Flower Club being virtual. If you can’t make it to one of the monthly live classes, no worries! The videos can be watched for 30 days after the fact, so if the regular schedule doesn’t work for your busy life, you can always follow along later at your own pace.
Amanda hosts monthly live video classes in The Flower Club on the fourth Saturday of the month, in the afternoon (Pacific time). We might move some based on holidays or other schedule conflicts, but we’ll always give you as much advance notice as possible for those instances.
And the club is still active in the days between the live classes — we share all kinds of tips that can benefit people of all skill levels on a regular basis, and you can always ask questions about flowers and floral arranging!
How Much Should I Expect to Spend on Flowers Each Month?
The Flower Club is meant to be accessible to all, and you have multiple options to make it work in your budget. You’ll need to purchase flowers to follow along with the live classes each month, but you don’t need to get anything too crazy.

The best way to get fresh, locally grown flowers if you aren’t in the Sacramento area is by finding local farmers or a nearby farmers market, and head there with the recipe we share before each live course. That way you can pick up the exact varieties we’ll be using all while supporting local growers! Or you can take a more DIY approach and grab some similar flowers from a grocery store like Trader Joe’s! You can expect to purchase a couple of standard grocery store bouquets to have enough material to make most arrangements or bouquets in The Flower Club, but each month is different! It’s always easiest to buy separate varieties of flowers, so if you can find a place to purchase them that way, you’ll have an easier time following the shopping list we provide before each month’s live class.
And of course if you live in the Sacramento area, you have the option to purchase the exact flowers you’ll need from us and pick them up the day before the course. This is the easiest and simplest way to have exactly what you’ll need for the class, but if you’d prefer to go on your own hunt, you can do that too!
Is a Facebook Group Really Worth $17 Per Month?
You’ll get a lot with your membership to The Flower Club. Of course, you’ll get access to join the interactive live video classes each month, led by professional flower farmer-florist Amanda Kitaura of Bloom. These videos are interactive, and you can always ask questions along the way if you need one-on-one help with your floral creation.
But you’ll get a lot more when you join this private community of flower lovers: You can share photos of your creations for individual feedback, and all throughout the month you’ll find arranging tips and advice, as well as fun facts you may not have known about a variety of flowers. Our tips also include advice for Amanda’s favorite floral equipment, available on Amazon and elsewhere. And keep an eye out for bring-a-friend free trial periods to add even more folks to enjoy the group!

How Is This Different from Free YouTube Flower Tutorials?
There are lots of ways to learn flower arranging, and you’ll find tutorials all over the web. Each one is different, and different platforms all have their strengths. The Flower Club is the best way to learn if you want to be part of a supportive and inclusive community who help and encourage each other while growing together! Plus, the live video class format of The Flower Club features the opportunity to ask questions along the way, as you create or at a later date. You can share a photo of your creation afterward and ask for as much feedback as you’d like. You’ll be impressed at how your skills can progress when creating every month!
Another benefit of The Flower Club for folks who live in Sacramento is Amanda’s local expertise. As a Sacramento-based flower farmer and florist, she can share advice and tips that are specific to the City of Trees (or America’s Farm to Fork Capital, depending on which version of the water tower you prefer … if you know, you know.)
